OK,stupid question. I was riding my 03 raptor 660 for the first time at night the other day in the snow. I stopped to move something and noticed that the exhaust pipe running from the motor was glowing red. Is that normal operation? If not, what should I check? Please note that the gauges have been removed so I have no temp gauge. Thanks for your help.

660s didn't come with gauges of any kind. Except the red light on the dash, if you wanna call that a gauge. What mods are done to the bike?

The first few inches of headers glowing in the dark is common - if it concerns you (or if it gets worse) then consider richening the idle screws, and perhaps upping the jetting to the next step each.

Exhaust temperatures can be as high as 1200 degrees F, which will make the exhaust pipes glow, adding more fuel as Quad suggested will cause the exhaust temperature to drop some..............
