How can I check to see if my fuel pump is working?

unhook your fuel line coming from your gas tank going to your throttle body put the line in a bottle of some sort turn the key on it should push out little bit of fuel if not turn engine over hope this helps

Everytime you turn the key you should hear the pump priming before you hit the start button. Its very noticeable. If you dont somethings wrong bud!

I thought that was the case. Last night I didn't hear the pump but, I hear it today.

Now if I can just get it to start.

Yea it does try to start.

It has been sitting for nearly 2 years (July will be 2 years) so I wonder if there was some fuel in the lines that went bad.

take the fuel line off and hook up a hose to a spare can and let it run to clean out

I don't have the time to ride as much as I want to, some times mine sits for a few months, I've added half a can in the tank and there's never a sputter when it starts.
