Goldspeed / GS Sport A Arms (UK)

Just wondering if anyone else has fitted GS Sport/Goldspeed A Arms to their 700? Long story short, I ordered these, assuming to be half decent as in the UK it's a nightmare to get a hold of anything decent without paying through the nose.

Anyway, I have alignment issues between the bottom a arms, looks like either the pipe bending is off or the jig was off, assuming they were even on a jig.... This is causing a big issue with the castor angle between each side, which explains why it feels like a pile of crap for handling...

That’s junky. Did you contact them to see if they’ll send you replacements? Or if you’re stuck with them, is there a way to adjust the caster to compensate for it?

They look like Chinese copies of Lonestar arms

Sent them a few emails yesterday with pictures, they aren't open weekends, so hoping they get back to me today. Will keep the thread updated as we go.

I believe these were made in Taiwan, well going by the writing on the box, or at least the box was made in Taiwan 🤣.

There is adjustment for the castor, with use of 2 spacers on the top a arm pivot bolt, just not sure if it would be accurate enough to get it right. Even if it did, I would always have one wheel further forward than the other.

Couple of better pictures attached.
Is there really no way of getting a better quality set of a arms in the UK? Those things look like junk, I wouldn’t feel comfortable running them even if they were straight

I wish there was, a set of Laegers would set me back at least £900 ($1100ish) but would also need to be imported. Doesn't appear to be anyone stocking anything apart from cheap crap.

I have to say, the company I bought these from have been quick to respond and have agreed to take them back so they can investigate the issue more and get me sorted - which is great, but it's at least another 2 weeks off the road. That's us just starting to get good weather in Scotland now and I was hoping to start using the Raptor for going to work and runs at the weekend....

Can get Alba Racing ones for £480 ($600ish) delivered, but would likely be more on top for import duty and VAT. Not sure if they are actually any good, seen a few posts on here saying they are ok for the money, but that's only a few. When you look at Housers, Laegers or Lonestars there seems to be a lot of decent write ups. Bear in mind I don't jump my quad, it's mainly used on the road, but occasionally does go into the odd field or trail. Poor thing is looking sorry for itself at the moment 😭 Tire Wheel Fuel tank Automotive fuel system Automotive lighting

Albas in the US are around $300, and that’s what they’re worth. I wouldn’t be paying $600 for them. They’re probably the best cheap arm there is, they’re a well known company. But they don’t have nearly the strength and reputation that brands like Houser and Lonestar do

Well if anyone plans a trip to the UK and fancies some parts smuggling - I'm all up for that 🤪

I’d chip in for some better a-arms if they could be sent to the UK one way only with the cuckess of sussex.

Lol 🤣
Right bit of an update, the company here in the UK say they can't see a massive difference between the left and right bottom a arms, nor can they see a difference between mine and the others they have in stock. They say they have also sold a lot of these and never had a complaint or a return, need to take them at their word here as I can't see anyone else having issues but maybe no-one has written about it like me. They also added as they are made in a jig, if mine are wrong, then they are all wrong. I had to disagree there, as we all know, even with a jig, sometimes stuff goes wrong. I also want to add, no my frame isn't bent or twisted etc. That was one of the questions the company asked me to make sure of...

I need to add, the company have been great with this issue, they accept that I have a fitment issue and want to make sure I'm happy(ish). So I have got 3 options here. Option 1, they send me out new lower a arms to try, if they still give me the same issue I can return and they will refund me. Option 2, they refund me now and I have the wheelie the bike everywhere from now on :ROFLMAO:. Option 3, I pay and extra £300ish and they will send me out Lonestar Sport 2+ 1+ A Arms.

I have pretty much discounted option 2 as that doesn't benefit anyone, especially me, in the short term. Now I'm at the sticking point between option 1 and option 3. I think I'm leaning more towards the Lonestars but I would like some of your input/experience with Lonestar please?
