I've seen ported heads with the exhaust valve guides cut down, matched with the port and sticking through exposed and was wondering if the cut ones reduced longevity on the stem/seal. Do the uncut ones kill flow? I was told the raptor exhaust ports were already adequate for good flow. Hoping someone that has experience building or selling these heads can fill me in.

I do a lot of woods/enduro type cross country riding so I elected to leave my guides in the bowl and not blend them on the two 660 heads I've ported/polished. There are folks on here that say there's enough guide left after cutting them out and they run them that way. I'm sure it may produce better flow on the bench for drag bikes or motors that will be taken down and inspected every 5-10 hours, but I wasn't that confident in doing it with my heads.

I cut them flush on my race port but on the stage I and stage II port I leave some in. Neither have shown any wear problems so far.
