So I’m new to the forum and I’ve recently acquired a 2006 raptor 700 and it has a busted crank case, but I’m 99% sure either the motor was swapped before or just the head because it has the single exhaust port instead of the dual that was introduced in 2015 I think. So I was wondering how I could figure out what year the motor is if it doesn’t match my frame so I could buy the right crank case, or if they are all the same through the years. Thanks again for any help!

The 06-14 crank will work in either case and with either head and also tends to be a bit better. I’m not aware of how to identify cases without splitting them to see the transmission.
