I just sold my '05 Raptor a few weeks ago and was planning on buying a '07 Raptor 700 at the end of the month. I get a call from a buddy of mine and tells me about this deal. DECISION, DECISION, DECISION... What's a guy to do?

Front Elka shock's with rezzy's & 3 way adjust
Dura blue +4 rear axle
Rear Elka shock with rezzy

That YFZ is freakin' nice. The Raptor would be sweet with all those mods, but you get such a headstart for such a good price, I would go with the YFZ, what do you plan to do with it?

Edit: What do you plan to do with the raptor? And what would you do in the mods department?
i reallly like that yfz! wow, hard call, i'd almost lean towards it unless you have plenty of $$ to mod.. it's fun to do your own,but dang it can be slow to get that many mods on your quad, its taken me over 6 months and i don't have jack for mine, shit always comes up, my rappy was my 1st sport quad and i never had done a test drive on it, just got it in the mail one day, and if i'd had a deal like that before i bought mine i know i woulda taken it, i bet it handles great, have you rode it?
I live in Arizona and my son and I ride mostly desert, trail and we go to the dunes a couple time a year. You can see from my old sig that I did alot of the same suspenion mods to my '05 Raptor as this YFZ has done. If there is one thing that I have learned from my first quad, is that you can usually go faster with good suspension then a couple of simple mods. Man, this is gonna be a tough choice. I'll have to call this guy and least go take a look at it just to make sure its not to good to be true.

go for the YFZ, you'd be nutZ not to! Unless a warranty gets in the way!
first question i would ask is why is he selling it. second question id have to ask to myself is with all those mods equaling close to 3 grand or better, why so cheap?
but if its legitimate answers that make sence and not some BS line...then jump all over it!
That would be tough, but I had the same problem when I got my Raptor. You can get a 450 for a lot less money. I could have had a new 450 for 1 grand less then my 700 and slightly used for about 2 grand less. I ride dunes and trails and it came down to me wanting reverse and the 450 felt too small. Felt kind of like I was sitting on my sister-in-law's Blaster.
It really comes down to do you like the ride and feel of the 450. If you do Id get the 450 it is a sharp looking quad and looks in great shape. The guy I ride with the most has a 06 450 and he loves it. We ride all the same places and he prefers it and I prefer mine. I like the softer feel and more roomy cockpit of the 700 (along with reverse) and he likes the handling of the 450 and the small feel.

If the 450 meets your needs and style get it if it isnt what you really want then get what you want and fix it up. Part of the fun is buying new toys for it and waiting on UPS to get here lol
Have you sat on one Johnny?

If you fit on it ok (they are pretty small), then I would get that 450! That thing would glide over everything you throw at it and think of how much it cost to get a 700 to be similiar in mods? Alot!
I would question the hrs/mi. After all it is an 2005. :3question:

I have been told that it feels smaller for us "Big Guys". I am planning on taking a look at it this weekend. I know how much seat time I spent on my '05 Raptor and if its not comfortable it doesn't matter how many mods are done it won't be fun to ride.

There is always a question of many "TRUE" hours anybody has on their quad we you buy used. I will just have to look at the wear and tear of the whole quad. There are somethings you just can't hide from low hours. To prove my point, there is a guy posting a YFZ on YFZ Central stating that his quad has really low hours but the back tires are worn bald. I think he needs to take a better look at what he's posting, learn to tell the truth or learn how to lie better....lol

True Johnny, Some guys buy ATV's etc. And just simply heavally mod them without much ridding time. It's more of just a hobby. Good luck in whichever direction you choose................
GET BOTH.....
Hee hee...what Mike said.

The 450 is nice, but better for tracks and to fly up a steep hill...the 700 is good for trail riding and dune riding. The 450 I rode I liked a lot, but now that I have my 700...woohoo.
How important is having reverse? No amount of mods can change that on a 450.

This is my new signature if you dont mind.
I love reverse after the 450...I was beat up for a week after constantly having to tug it around to get unstuck. People loved to stop in front of me too...lol.
If you're into racing, the YFZ is sweet.

For the cost of the YFZ, $6650, you could buy a Raptor and spend $1600 is some sweet as mods!

yea all depends on what will come in handy,

like if it was me i would have to go with the raptor, i love the way that 450 looks and i love speed but where i live it wouldnt come in use that much. and even if i were to try and ride that around here with those fenders being cut i would be eating mud non stop

i like when people do cut the fenders and i would but thats better for line dune ridding (IMO)

Reverse also would be a big deal for me, i mean yea i could get off it and pick up up and swing it around, but around here i gotta back up quite a bit,

So i guess you just gotta ask yourself which one would come in handy more :)
