Have an 03 Raptor 660, took the carbs apart and cleaned them out good, put back in and all the quad does is pop and back fire, will only stay running with the choke on, and as soon as you hit the throttle it dies ???

Please read "Most Common Problems with the Raptor 660", a sticky at the top of the General 660 Discussion section. Pay attention to the section on RPM limiters. Does this sound familiar?

If it IS carb related, it's the pilot jets - pull them and clean them thoroughly using copper strands stolen from speaker wire... what most people consider a 'carb cleaning' only cleans the exterior surfaces and misses the tiny passages in things like the pilot jets.

Sounds like the pilots jets and or the fuel screws and their passages are still extremely dirty, clean these and pay attention to the size of the pilots, minimum required is a #25 in a fairly stock engine..............:)
