I was riding at deepwater near Clinton, Missouri and about 3 hours into the ride I started hearing a metal on metal clanking. At first I thought I needed to adjust my chain but noticed that there was some play in the axle. So I decided to head back to my truck and on the way it started to squell so I pulled over again and noticed metal shavings underneath the sprocket. I made it back to my truck without it ceasing up but the axle was sloppy. I want to change the bearings myself but was told that it is easier to rebuild the motor than it is to get the axle out. Any advice or tips on replacing the bearings and seals would be greatly appreciated.
