I own a harley performance shop so the quads are not something I do ever day. However i cam across a 03 660 Ltd editon???? with a full DMC that is mint shape and has a few other options such as nerf bars, six, front bumper.

With that being said i am wondering if and what are the big items to look for that are problem issues, with this model. Price wise he is asking 4000 OBO.

Having rode two stroke quads my whole life how do these compare?? I see plenty of info on other 4 strokes vs the raptor but nothing in the twp stroke vs the 660??

I sold my lt 500 that made 68hp. ( we have a dyno) it was a blast to ride but was rather beat to death as far as the frame and plastics went.

I am looking for a great powered sport quad , and I hope that the suspension is better than the old 500. Thanks

Big problems are pretty limited to one, the one-way starter clutch. 4k is high for a basically stock 03. HP wise the 660 chimes in at around 35 stock, probably 40-43 with that pipe. Lots of torque at low rpms, in a way similar to the big single lt but not much for high revs. Suspension is certainly better, but in comparison to other current machines it's a little on the tippy side, requiring more body english to really throw into high speed corners. The 660 is a lot smoother than any lt I've ever ridden as well.

Well I am not sure where you live but here in AZ that is cheap after looking for a few months that is a great deal. Most are going for 4000+ stock with nothing. Now I can get a 01 raptor for 3400 that is not the LTD edition?? I am still not sure what that really is other than colors?? BONE stock no extras nothing just like it cam from the factory. And that is a deal as i have only come across one in good shape for that price. Pipe wise is the DMC a good pipe?? As like I said I am from two stoke world.

the dmc is a decent pipe, and if that's a good deal in your area then feel free. Stay away from the 01 models, they had transmission problems that were fixed in 2002. The only difference in the limited edition is the graphics and paint/plastic/frame/wheel colors.

I too live in AZ and prices are crazy here. I have a 2005 and Ive seen 660's whith the same type mods I have sell for about 5,000. I love my raptor but have had alot of probelms getting the thing jetted properly. All these shops here seem to be idiots and they cant get it to run properly. Ive been too two places now. Other then that I havent had a single problem with my Raptor.

I had a LT 250 back in the day the raptor has a broader power band then the 2 strokes and the raptor (in my opinion) is just as fun if not more fun depending were and how you ride it.

The price is too high. I have a 1999 KX 250 and a 2003 Raptor 660. The raptor is way more fun. The 250 kicks ass, but 2 strokes are constant work. Paid 2500 for the raptor. Very reliable and fun as hell to ride.
