well with the stock dunlop's being 4 ply the screws might make it, I would go with at least 1/2" though just to be on the safe side, I dont know much about ice studs but isnt the object of the studs is to get them past the knobs on the tire so they grip?? If thats the case then I would get at least 1" or better
