how true is it that with a big cam like webb4, x4, or 5050, a 12:1 piston is pump gas safe at say 1000-2000ft. i have seen this a lot of places and am a little skeptical, but since i'm not a motor expert, just i thought i'd ask some people a little more knowledgable than me. and searching this out has resulted in many hrs of reading useless threads.

and I thought 11:1 was the cat's ass.. the higher compression u go you can run whatever fuel you want, but obviously for HP gains you'd wanna run alky

timing, fuel and all that jazz go hand in hand.

the more overlap in the cam the more compression you will be able to run on the lower octane...
the HDD5050 is pump gas safe for 11:1.... any more and your pushing your luck... this is assumed your riding at sea level...
the higher the elevation the more compression u can safely run
