If you like racing on pavement and are in the area there is going to be an ATV Dragrace at Elk Creek dragway on friday, May 27th which is an 1/8th mile IHRA dragstrip. You can go to their website for more info on that race if you are interested in it.http://youtu.be/dUVk-LewjQU
The nicest track in the area that allows ATV's to race on it is Bristol Dragway in Bristol Tennessee which is an NHRA track.I usually go there for Street Fights on thursday nights and they also allow ATV's to race on saturdays and sundays in the motorcycle class.Bristol is kind of strict on their rules so depending on your safety gear you can either race the 1/8th mile or 1/4 mile. They also have a website with the track schedule, rules and directions to the track.http://youtu.be/b8UiR-8sHjk
Usually we have several ATV Rodeo's during the summer at the Rich Valley Fairgrounds in Va and as well as the usuall county fair's like Tazwell, Russell County and Washington County here in Virginia. This year they are also going to do a couple at the Kanawha Valley Arena as well as Mt. City in Tennessee.
I'm not sure if you've been to it, but the biggest one that we have in the area where I live is the Rich Valley Fair.It has gotten so big that they had to make it two days long. The saturday before the fair actually starts is reserved for racing ATV's and is broken down into several classes with five events that each pays out 80% for the first three places.
The wednesday night during the fair is when they have the Utility class ATV's and is also broken down into different classes for the ATV's with five events and the same payout as the racing bikes.
The guy that puts the dirt drags on is pretty cool about the way he classes things and actually trys to get people to race in as many classes as they can.He actually lets the guys with the Outlaw class Banshee's race in the 0-400 open and 0-500 open classes as long as they take their spiked tires off and run a regular tire which is really cool to watch because they are fighting for traction the whole way down the track.
As far as a Raptor goes you might be limited to only a few classes with it because it has a 700cc engine from the factory. You could send the guy an email and talk with him about what classes you could run, but I would guess that you would be limited to the open classes and the ATV vs. MX class, but I might be wrong. You're friends with Carlos on facebook aren't you?He races his Raptor over there so he could probably tell you what all classes you could run also.
It's really a laid back event and the people that put it on are more about making sure that everyone racing and watching has fun more than anything else. The best thing about racing there is that if you make a suggestion about something and it's a good idea they will try to do it.
