Excuse my ignorance, but what is the hose for that goes in the float cover, and where does it go? I never knew it was supposed to have a hose until I was looking for a carb rebuild kit. Also what is the knob adjuster for on the second pic? Thanks in advance

And Vitos air screws!
They make adjustments so much easier!
All that Sixpack says is correct with one small caveat - they're FUEL screws (called Pilot Screws in the manual) not AIR screws! They are simple valves that adjust the flow of fuel from the idle jet (called Pilot Jet in manual) into the carb throat. Most 4 stroke carbs use fuel screws.

Most 2 stroke carbs use air screws that, instead, adjust bypass air flow into the throats.

Both adjust air/fuel mixture, just by opposite methods. Both affect primarily mixture at idle thru 1/4 throttle.

Correct...and I really do know that.
I don't know why I always call them that.
Sorry for bad info again.
I started out working on 2-strokes too, many years ago, I guess the term stuck.

We all get stuck in the past. Just ask my wife, Morgan Fairchild... yeah, yeah... that's the ticket!
