hey man, this is pretty much the look i was going for.... a couple weeks ago i made a few posts about suggestions for going for a red color theme... anyway.... i really like the look.... now it makes me even more excited about getting my bike done. i had not even thought about doing the nose piece.... so i have some questions...
1. what did you use to paint the nose piece?
2. did you do it or have a professional?
3. are you a-arms powder coated? (or something else)....
4. What made you decide to stop the paint/powder coat a little short on the a-arms instead of doing them all the way?
5. (its hard to see in the pics) - with the nose piece red, do you think it looks ok with the GYTR graphics (since the graphics
kinda have a little goldish silverish tint to them)

also if there are any other suggestions you can give me about getting this stuff done i would appreciate it.... also the guy i have lined up to do my powder coating told me he would do it for $40 per set or a-arms, so $80 to powder coat them.... you think that is a good price... thanks Plattner

Glad ya like it, actually I seen the graphics on urs and liked em enough to get em....anyhow to ur questions
On the front piece and the arms they were painted, had some paint and clear left over from when I painted my bike last winter...I did it myself Ive been into doing body work for a few years now, not so much the body work but painting....btw if you spray urself put a lil flex additive (such as Bulldog) in the clear being that its plastic and all.....being that the arms wernt powdercoated (there is no powdercoating shop round here and I didnt wanna completely dissamble the arms) I stopped short cause I didnt wanna get into it to much it was eaiser to stop where I did.....on the nose with the graphics Im gonna put the Yamaha symbol on (the triangle graphic) not sure yet about the pieces that say Yamaha, I held em up there and couldnt decide if it looked right or not, if you need any more help feel free to ask...

perfect, i see that your online, ha ha its nice to get answers quick.... ha ha.... anyway thanks for answering my questions. i think i will see if the guy doing my powder coat wants to paint that nose piece, but also did you just "tape off" that yamaha emblem in the bottom middle of the nose piece, ? or pull it off and resticking it back? my only problem with painting my nose piece is that i will have to get new yamaha stickers that i have on my nose peice from the GYTR graphics kit.... i am just affraid if i peel them off then they wont stick back.... and also i dont think i will be able to get those stickers without buying the whole graphic kit again.... maybe i can take them to a graphic shop and have them duplicate them with new ones or something..... The little white yamaha symbol triangle you are talking about for the nose piece i threw away, bcs i had it on mine but did not like the white on the gold nose piece.....
also where did you get your warning label covers? alot of gus on here are getting them from the carbon covers place.... i like the looks of yours.... if you got yours from that place or wherever you got them - which did you get? like pattern wise its hard to tell in the pic... or are they just red painted plates? thanks again Plattner
Naw I peeled that sticker off, i have it if i want to put it back on though.....that sucks about them stickers though its pretty thivk material though you may be able to restick it....the lables I got from www.haleyengineeredperformance.com they arent the candy red I called and told em just a basic red and he sent them, matches perfect also they are the diamond plate they were like $29 shipped
alright, thanks for the info... i might have more questions this weekend... who knows..... ha ha.... i will see if i can get the stickers re-made somewhere... if so i will definantly get my nose piece painted also.... i will definantly get pics to ya once i get mine done.... it will probably be a couple weeks,.,.... i am getting my wheels done also.... they will be black... just like the c-series black rims.... but its cheaper to get mine powder coated then buying c-series new rims....
I can make the DECALS for you...us in The Business take great offense to the word Sticker being used as it makes 'em sound cheap. Stickers are akin to little gold stars you get for getting your spelling words right! This is all tounge-in-cheek, by the way.
ha ha ha sorry baout using the word "sticker"... i will refer to it as a decal from now on. ha ha.... anway, With the GYTR white drip graphics kit, you get two little white banners that say "yamaha" and they go on the nose piece... (you can see them in pics of my bike)(pics of my bike are on the thread "golden raptor" in the discussion like page 3 or 4 or something).... and then also in the kit is a little triangle Yamaha symbol that goes on the top center of the nose piece, i didnt not put it on mine (but if i am painting my nose piece red then i will want that decal also).... do you have deminsions of these decals or know which ones i am talking about? how much would you charge to make them? i would like them the way they are in the kit, but then also i would like the same thing but with a clear background on the decals not white.... i think it might look better, but no way to tell unless i have them both and can hold them up... thanks Plattner....sorry about this being so long, ha ha ha
