Hi,

I purchased a 2006 yamaha raptor 660r special editon , im in the UK. So, people say there is no such thing as a 2006 yamaha raptoo 660r and my log book tells me different. The lisence plate is 2006, on the log book it states 660 and 2006. When typed into Gov.uk/mot check it comes up as "YAMAHA YFM 660" and the registration plate comes back as fine.

Can any one shed some light on this and tell me what this is please?

Got a pic? Is this fuel injected or carbs? What is the 10th digit of vin? 2006 is first year of 700's.

What is the log book you are referring to? Some kind of registration from the govt. for plates?

Yeah the log book is the document for the bike, it states the owner details, the vehicle details etc which are from the UK governement.

Vin number reads it as a 05 but its on 2006 plates

Since you are in the UK our common US knowledge doesn't always apply - models and years (not to mention VIN requirements) were a bit different there. IIRC, your years are defined by sales date of a new vehicle, not mfg date.

If you are looking for parts, 2005 model year will be correct.
