How long have you owned it? Have you ridden it much and is it brand new? Quick answer to both questions either way is to purchase an hour meter (they are cheap) and replace the oil now, then start a log book. I change about every 10 hours or so, a little OCD but motor will last, oil is cheap.

Absolutely perfect time to get an hour meter and start the regimen then. Dump the current yamalube that’s in there and get some better oil. I am an Amsoil follower but there are plenty of better oils out there than Yamalube. Whatever you get, make sure it’s wet clutch compatible.
