Hey Guys quick question.

On JE'S website there are 2 different ways of figuring out what piston rings you need.

This one:Which gives me this Part #XH10200
http://www.jepistons.com/Catalogs/ProSeal/RingSearch.aspx

Then another way which gives me this part #J99001-4010-5 http://www.jepistons.com/Catalogs/Powersports/ATV-UTV/Yamaha/raptor_700.aspx

I originally ordered the first one due to not seeing the other way to do it.

The second one offers it for the 700 with 11:1 comp (FIRST ONE DOES NOT SPECIFY)

So my question is will I be alright using the first one (XH10200) or do i need the other one?
I have a ride weekend after next so I need to get my motor back up and running asap!:wow:

Or should I use my old rings until I get the correct ones?

Thanks all, sorry if its a stupid question:confused:

The first one ( the one you ordered ) is an automotive type ring and will not fit your piston due to the ring widths being way too wide. The second chart where the Raptor 700 is listed is the correct ring set to use with a JE piston. If you use your stock rings make sure they fit the piston you are using.

Well I would be using the piston rings that came with the je. I was just putting new ones in to keep it fresh.

Now that I think about it again. If you look at the first link. The application shows it being used on a 686 raptor 660

I don't see the 660 listing but I'm probably not looking in the same place. The XH10200 ring set uses ring widths of 1.2mm 1.5mm and 4.0mm and the piston you have should use the 1.2mm 1.0mm and 3.0mm widths of the J99001-4010-5 set.
