I just wanted to vent so here it is.

I am a member (free version) of PS and read about what people post.

PS used to allow Basic posting and viewing at NO Charge.

Then they went to No posting and No Viewing of pictures and Videos.

Now they went to No posting, No viewing of pics/vids and NO Viewing of event the posts of members!

PS has 31277 Members and they want to charge 25 per member Plus They have 40 Paying Business that Advertise all over there pages.

Do some math and that brings in 781925.00 per year plus any money from Business members.

Crooks is the one word that comes to mind.

I think that the Porno Sites are not making this much.

They're ridiculous. The last time I was on there it said there were currently 4500 members logged on.... maybe it's just me, but that sounds like alot of members for an ATV sand drag site, with not many new post daily. I think the numbers might be fudged

Planet Sand is definitely more geared toward the big banshee and two stroke folks.. But you can find paddle tires, axles, and other stuff there... Maybe we should start a FORUM POOL and collect $1 from 25 folks and open up an account to share... LOL...

I would venture to think, that only 10% of that number is an actual paying site member. cowtownup is right though, its more geared towards the 2 smoke banshee'ish and snomo crowd...

Some are willing to pay the fee to be a member, some aren't. Same as some of the racers are willing to pay $100 a class to race and some aren't. If ya can't afford 25 bones then ya probably shouldn't owna bike anyhow.

I joined up because the used tire selection is HUGE there....found exactly what I was looking for, and saved quite a bit of money too. But I won't re-up my membership when it expires...not much going for 4-strokes on there. Tried selling a few parts, just got stupid low offers.

IMO it's not so much that they charge fees, it's that they change the sets of features available for free and certain price points. We (humans) are creatures of habit and don't particularly like change especially when it leaves us with less than we had before. That said, the longer you have been an active member the more likely it is that you've extracted more value from the site and would be less adverse to having to shell out a subscription fee.

I am a member at PS and have been for some time. I choose not to be a paying member came because since I stopped racing I have less interest in the topics discussed and do not need full access. If I had more in common with the site and felt I could personally benefit I would certainly consider a paid subscription.
