hi, i have a 2002 raptor 660r.
a few days ago i changed the oil in the bike, and i called yamaha and they said to put 2ltrs into the bike, so i put in the 2ltrs and followed the steps, and the dipstick keeps saying its empty? there is no leaks or anything like that, Also, the bike is leaking a little bit of gas and its bogging and harder to start. Anyone know what is going on? please help!

For the bogging part, start by cleaning the carbs, and as far as the oil in the tank, check if there is oil flowing into the tank, remove the upper line that hooks to the tank and start the engine for a second or two to verify oil or no oil flow............

To properly measure oil level, you must run the engine till hot, turn it off and let sit for one or two minutes, then check the dipstick. Level will be higher under these conditions than it will be when cold.

The important thing is just to not let the tank run dry.

Absolute level is not nearly as important in these bikes with a dry sump as it is in an auto engine, where cylinders and other components are be lubricated by splash from the crank hitting oil in the full oil pan.
