I am rebuilding my top end and parts of bottom. My quad ran good other than when the header stud mount cracked. It`s a pas stolen 03 660 with many hr`s but in overall good condition. The valves look like they are seated good. I am wanting to replace them with ferra stainless ones. Will i need any type of port or polish work or angle/vavle job. I do not know much about port and polish and etc.. please exsplain and if I will need or want or how to tell if i will need anythang done to the valve ports??????? im Not look for performance just refresh on this one cant afford trinity pro port and polish 300+ price. I started to get curiouse on this topic after reading a kfx 400 manual and saw pages on cuting/shaveing "Valve job?" the ports.

they can be just thrown in, but it is BETTER to have them fitted. I had +1mm stainless valves put in so it needed to be opened up a bit more. When my head was ported and polished, it was epoxied and flow tested too...results were amazing, but I have a high comp piston which also makes a dif. I am using the stock cam and this was taken into consideration. Total cost minus the valves was 400 bucks, valves and new springs were 250.
