At last the starter motor has come 🤪 hopefully get this fitted over the next 4 days see if it starts

Starter motor fitted couldn’t get it started but sounds a lot better and it wanted to fire up got a few puffs out the exhaust but think I need more fuel as it low! So going to try that and see. Still makes a funny noise when starting which I now think is the chain hitting the metal plate behind it as it’s been cut off around the starter motor for some reason!?!?!

I was after a big bore kit for it, That would take it from 500 to 650cc. And looking at maybe doing something to the air intake

Started to spray a few parts just to see if my sanding was any good

Chain on the starter motor is loose so I think it’s skipping on a full rotation and someone cut the plate off around the old starter motor 🤔🙈

Had a faulty coil so swapped it over and got it fired up 👌🏻 (New one on order) but cuts out when you give it some throttle! So next job is the carb

Technically, there is no such thing as a Suzuki "Quadzilla".
It is a Suzuki LT500 Quadracer.
2-stroke, 5 speed, manual clutch, no reverse, kick start only, made from 1987-1990.
Quadzilla was a nickname that stuck, as it was the largest cc engine and one of, if not the quickest and fastest 4 wheelers made for many years, and is still up there at the top today.

Cleaned out the carb found bit of dirt in there, Got the starter chain sitting in a mix as it’s stiff as hell so going to leave that in there see if it frees up if not may need to pick up a new one

Finally got it running well after new starter motor coil and a good carb clean

Next new exhaust and pro taper bar pad

Thanks engine is very good need to try and find out how many miles it’s done when I get time to look at the speedo. Got a new exhaust to go on there was I don’t like the look of the one on there at the moment

Got the old exhaust and pipe off today. Going to give the pipe a good clean up and respray ready for the new exhaust to go on
