So I was riding today and it died I ran 87 in it my brothers a gear head and well it got hot and I changed the gas and it wouldn’t start barley any spark it was really hot also. So let it cool for 30 minutes go back lots of spark and it starts right up would this mean I would need a new ignition coil

What is getting hot, the coil or the motor? Did you check the coolant level? Can you see turbulence in the top of the radiator? Does it need to be flushed? Test the thermostat!
