Me and my buddy were recently trying to push start an old Raptor 80. After pushing it the engine seemed to turn over only stalling when the quad came to complete stop. After that we noticed we didn't even install the new spark plug. After installing the new plug we got nothing expect the back tires locking up. Out of sheer curiosity we removed and the plug again and it started to sound like it was kicking over again. What would cause this to happen? Why would it turn over without the spark and NOT with one?

On any engine, if you remove the sparkplug or plugs, you are letting all the compression escape out the sparkplug hole so the engine will have no compression and be very easy to turn over.

With the sparkplug in, you have compression to overcome so it takes more effort to turn the engine over.

If the tires are dragging then you need more weight on the quad to help them get enough traction to turn the engine over.
