I had to use a thread setter. This a very similar to a rivet, but sets a nut in place. Not sure where to get this though because my father in law had one. Maybe check the autoparts store.

Good luck.

I just drilled straight through the swingarm and ran 2, 5" bolts through and tightened with nuts

I am in a similar situation. Would just drilling all the way through weaken the swingarm? Would that hold up as well as just using a tap and die set to rethread?
Thanks

1/4-20 SAE bolts are just a hair bigger than the stock metric, I ran a 1/4-20 tap in the stripped holes and used new stainless bolts. It worked just fine until I went drag only and removed all that stuff.
