Where can you go online to price rebuild kit thingys? I was wanting to spend around $2500 total. With that budget possibly a 686, basic thing i want are, new bearings, rod, i have a wiseco 11:1 piston installed(new rings), valve springs, stage two hotcam, new valves, port&polish, header. Those are my basic needs?

do you want to do the work yourself or have it done by a shop?

Either way, you shouldn't have an issue getting that done for 2500 or less.
My self the piston i have is 100mm and a 686 is 102mm correct, the sleeve getting bored is no problem, i have a good shop 2miles away. How do the rods change out bolt on or press fit? Is there anything else i should know befor i rebuild, advict, tips, tricks, wisdom?
just buy a preman crank like the hotrods for a 686, its not even worth the hassle of trying to put a new rod on the stock crank, you can buy a new hotrods crank with rod for less money than it takes to buy an aftermarket rod and have it installed on your stock crank.

yes a 686 is a 102 bore and 84mm stroke. Most automotive machine shops do not have the jig necessary to perform a proper bore on these cylinders. I'd try to find a motorcycle machine shop.

CSR can hook you up with parts. Online you can get kits from Alba (I think), Kenz Cycle Tech, etc. Go with one of the forum sponsors. Forgot to mention CT Racing. They have a kit, too I believe.
