I had problems kinda on my 660 when I got some new full size boots until they were broke in......but I also got a pair of 50/50 boots and loved them.....still great protection and easy to shift!!!!

i would use the boots, just givem time to break in and try adjusting your shifter differently and see what works for you.

They need to be broken in. I would leave the shifter where it is. If you go to high your going to hitting it and down shifting. I've tried it and I kept down shifting when I leaned forward.

I ride my 350 with boots, and never got problems with it. Even when i've installed my nerf-bars, just needed to raise the shift pedal a bit.
