i recently repacked my silencer. i flushed my motor cause i filled it with water and someone told me to repack the silencer. how tight should you pack them?? the package says not to tight and it spun in easily for me but i've got black marks on my exhaust coming from in between the head pipe and the mid pipe. it also doesnt seem to be running perfect, but doesnt seem too far off. any comments would be appreciated :thumbsup:

Assuming you changed it cause it got wet, then put in the same as you took out. Obviously filling it with water may have done some damage too. Did she run o.k. before removing the old packing? Might get lucky and she'll dry out. :lol:

there was barely any packing left in the pipe. and it was running off before i repacked it.

I always wrapped the silencer with as much packing as I could get to fit back in the muffler, then taped it in place with masking tape.......I never had any problems, not sure if its the correct way but it worked for me.. :thumbsup:
