is slam shifting (power shifting or no clutch shifting) bad on my tranny? is it a must to ride 5th gear wheelies or just get really good at running my clutch? what kinda of damages will it do? i have a friend with a 660 and he says he slam shifts all the time. i was just wondering if it is ok to do sometimes or should i just stay away from doing it?

Sounds like your making up new terminology. If you are power shifting WOT with no clutch, yes, you are going to kill the tranny. Especially 5th gear. That is the smallest and weakest.

I'd advise against 'slamming' any gear. However, there is a point for ever gear when it will just want to slip in w/out the clutch.
If you are going to do it, do it for wheelies only... My opinion only...

In the history of consumer products when has "slamming" anything been good?

Obviously not good, but there's always the sweet spot just like shifting a car w/out using the clutch where there's just the right timing where it slips right in
