Just orderd a new 700GYTR and im having the dealer put on the GYTR oval muffler and Head pipe. The dealer said all that had to be done is rejet it. Can i get away with running the stock EFI and those mods?

Bro you need a PCIII or dobeck BADDDDD!!!. And thats no shit there buddy. Unless your dealer changed your setting you need a controller ASAP. You have a full exhaust system with intake. WOW you might be running very very lean.
A Fuel controller will allow you to adjust the fuel/air ratio. I cant really go to much more in deepth cause i really dont know what im talking about. LMAO but i do know that you need a CONTROLLER BAD. I bought my PCIII from fuel moto and paid 259 shipped for it. I also get unlimited maps ( everytime you add something that changes either the air or fuel misture you need a new map), 2 yr warranty, and the best customer service money can buy. Plus it only takes 2-3 to get the PCIII, fastest ship i everseen from a dealer. But like i said bro im not no expert by ANY means i just know what i have read on here and ppl say you need one if you change anything on your quad dealing with the air/fuel mixture. good luck -- WOODY

Well to add onto whats already been said here. You need to get an EFI with those mods. PCIII (power commander) is the most popular IMO. The reason is cuz you have more adjustability and flexability. You can hook it up to your comp. using a USB cable and make changes. There is already a list of maps you can download for free from their site to match what you have on your bike. Or you can pay a place with a dyno to custom make a map built just to get the most HP out of your personal bike. All other EFI's like the dobeck can not be adjusted for major mods and can not have custom maps made.
These do not require a computer like the PCIII, so some have thought for mild mods it might be easier to set them up or adjust them. But there is so much more you can watch, control, and adjust with the PCIII and a laptop or computer.

It was a good thing you guys got me scared. I kept searching the web til i found that the stock EFI (dealer adjust only) can be adjusted down to 60degrees ferinheit and handle the GYT-R exhaust and intake. Colder then 60 degrees it wouldn't handle the adjustment. PCIII is the way i decided to go. Plus the PCIII was only 249 at fuel moto w/unlimeted maps.(Thanks Woody)

The unlimited maps thing is a gimik. They have unlimited map downloads on the power commanders webiste. For free for anyone even if you dont have the PCIII. You dont have to sign up or anything. The price is good tho.
Heres the link for the maps. http://www.powercommander.com/416-411.aspx
they also new version of the software for the PCIII. Check out the download section on the right. http://www.powercommander.com/

I'd take the money you are paying the dealer to put that pipe on and use that towards the PCIII. You can install the pipe if you can turn a wrench. Its basic..... The dealer is probably getting $100 from you to do it....

No not a gimik, Jamie has way more maps then the Dynojet site offers. Most guys seem to be happier with the Fuel Moto supplied maps than the Dynojet maps.

Sorry, I stand corrected then. I was unaware he had his own custom created maps online. I assumed he was just posting the same maps dynojet has on their site. Thanks for the correction.
