Okay I was taking my tires off to put tubes in for this weekend. And I rounded one of the nuts trying to get it off. Is there any way to get the nut off with out cutting it off? :help:
Take a Dremel and carve a small groove into the nut. Stick a long screwdiver (flat bladed) into the groove and smack it (in the right direction) with a hammer. Either that or take a slightly smaller 12 point socket and smack it on over the nut with a hammer and then turn it off with a ratchet.
Are you talking about one of the four nuts that hold the wheel on? or the main nut that holds the hub on? You should be able to get a pair of vise grips into that and take it off.
or take it to a tire shop, they have a socket that fits over the damaged or locking lug nuts..I had the same problem years ago on my Mustang and the dude at Sears Auto said "this is what the theives use".. :grin_nod:
