tie rods

over the thanksgiving holiday i went riding. I was doing some HARD trail riding at jawbone canyon I was on top of a hill going down real slow when I snapped the balljoint at the end of my tie rod actually it snapped at the threads right before the jam nut. my question is would a heim style tierod end be stronger or should i stick to the ball joint type? also because of the extreme angle my wheel was put in trying to get off the hill my a-arm ball joint is leaking should I replace those also? :'( :'( :banghead: :feedback:
