If the intake valves are closing too soon then yeah it would be almost impossible to start.....Adjusting the valves takes all of 20 min. But before you do that make sure you have gas and spark, if those both check out then adjust the valves.
do you think that you might have bent an exhaust valve? it would take quite a bit of pressure to blow the o-ring. were you able to turn the motor over when you did your valve adjustment?
Bent valve, messed up valve seat or both. Needless to say, I bet your taking the top end out of it man. I know it's not what you really wanted to hear...but if the only compression you have is because that seal then you know your valve seat is leaking or not even there. This is allowing your compression stroke to push out the seal.
Time to take it apart
