I was just wondering if someone could explain the difference between o, x, and z ring chains. =)

All three rings simply keep lubricant inside the link... o-rings last the longest but have the most friction. If you're a racer you want to get every ounce of power onto the track, so X or Z's lower friction loss is preferred. If you want your chain to last, O is the most common, long lasting.

COnsider each ring having a cross section like its name - o, x or z... the o, when flattened, has a lot of surface in contact with the link, the x has four smaller points, the z has four points of contact also.
