I don't know if I got a defective chain or what, But I just snapped a brand new RK X-ring chain. With a rivet style master link. It snapped right on take off after riding for an hour. And it broke somewhere in the middle away from the masterlink. What do you guys recommend ?

Thanks for your quick response
The carrier is straight and the nut and bolt that keeps it straight was tight too.
is there anyway to convert the chain from 520 to 530

I would get ahold of whoever you got the chain from and get a new one from them. It had to be defective.

If you're snapping chains then either the chain was defective (not common but possible) or there is a problem with your adjustment or alignment (much more likely).

DID, RK, Renthal, and others make chains with tensile strengths in the high 7k to mid 8k pound range.

The strongest chain I'm aware of is the sidewinder line. You can switch to 530 as well.
