New to the forum. Just picked up brand new 2008 raptor gray/red this morning. Tri City powersports in allentown pennsylvania. $6168.51 for raptor, 298 freight and set-up, 370.11 tax, 55 doc fee, 54.50 reg, total otd= $6,946.12

This is good info to know. I want the 2009 Raptor SE, that black/red is sexy.
I'm going to shoot for 6500 OTD max.
I think my buddy got his 08 700 for about that price and the quad's MSRP supposedly was low 9K

Ya it is good info to know. The reasons they are willing to deal on 08's is the 2009's are just around the corner. Personally I dont mind it much, as the adjusted shocks/computer are not a big deal. I actually prefer the color of the 2008 more than the 2009 (the bright red instead of the red wine color on the 09).

Another reason they are cheaper is the incentives are higher on the older models. Right now its 600 double cash (if not financing) + 300 for models 2008 and older. That puts the msrp (8,000) down to 7100. The 2009's went up 100 so with the rebate (600) would put it at 7200. I would say you would be doing well if you could get a 2009 OTD for 7000...

Again, dont forget that my price is without paying sales tax (about 500 bucks at 6.5%). So my true OTD as most people consider it, is 6900. He said they cannot go any lower and still make money, so im guessing they are only making maybe 50-100 bucks on my transaction.

that is true, 7k would be really good.
Seeing how 08 700's non SE are 7399, it seems getting them at low-mid 6k is fairly easy. I bet the 09 SE at 8199, will be a deal at low 7's.
That 08 SE black/red looks pretty tempting too, 6900 sounds about right on a good deal for one.

It looks brand spanking new...so im guessing it dosnt have more than 5-10 hours tops on it! I think i did fairly good on the price for a quad in that condition.

Keep posting up what you paid - even used! It helps myself and others see what the current market is at. Right now it is for SURE a Buyers market!! If you have the money I would jump on a new purchase while the market is crappy!
