Check the valve adjustment, especially the intake.

Be sure the timing marks line up.

Will it bump start?

 

Finally got it started, but....
First I found a small tear in the fuel hose right after the filter. Fixed
Second I have to really lay into the throttle for it to start. Won't start off choke alone. Once running and warm it will stay idled.
I have never tore into valves or top end on this one. Never really rode it enough. Maybe 50-60 hours on it. Would the valves or poor compression cause starting issues? Thanks Dezperado for reply 👍🏻

Especially the intake valve will cause hard starts. Not enough fuel can enter the cylinder if to tight'

 

Yes low compression will make it hard to start.

 

Yes, that's what my gut keeps telling me, it's not getting enough fuel. Guess I found a new project for my Cornacation. Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to post and help me out. Anything out of the ordinary doing the top end on this?

 

Once started does it smoke or run poorly? It may not be necessary to do a top end. Start with a valve adjustment. Depending on access, it should take less then a hour.

Then, if you want to freshen up the top end, do it during your off season.

No smoke at all. Runs good once started and warm. Haven't really reved it all the way out, still governed down a little for 8 yo. Definitely going to check the valves today.
