Got a new radiator and compared it to the old one and they were identical besides.... that the new one is at least twice as thick. So I guess when it warms up tomorrow ill have to take the the that is on there right now off and see how it compares with the new one I just got.
I'm wondering if maybe the other one I bought was too thick as well. I hadn't thought of that before.
I don't know, but the thickness should not matter, as the expensive radiators are thicker for better cooling.
The fender style after yours(whatever year got the factory speedometer, 2011??) had hood clearance for a thicker radiator, and the 2015+ do too.
It's been too long since I've looked at or worked on the early models like yours, but I'm almost certain there is room for it to be thicker on those too.
There is also enough clearance alone between the radiator and an aftermarket metal radiator grill/guard to be filled in with more radiator core, so I would happy getting a thicker radiator for a replacement.
It's just the length and width that need to be right.
Can you take pictures for comparison?

And also I forgot to mention it was the actual front plastics that wouldn’t fit which made the hood not go on very well.

it’s cold as heck here. I’ll get pics of the one I have currently on today or tomorrow.

So on the widest point the new one is 1/2 wider. I think the one I have on there right now is like 1/2 longer than stock which may be why it’s pushing on the plastics. Cause the only reason it’s not fitting is at the top.

I have a thicker, oversized fluidyne radiator on my 07. It will fit. What exactly is the problem?

@4stroker4life, do you by chance know the thickness and length of your radiator?
The new one I got is just the same size of the other one.....

He says it's contacting the plastics/hood at the top.

Did you notice a drop in temperature when you installed the Fluidyne radiator?
I have not rode it in the summer heat yet to know

Its hard to measure without taking the plastic off but it appears to be about 15" long and is 2" thick at the bottom where i can see it. It does indeed touch the plastic guard at the top

But not to the point where the plastics don't fit on real well??
The radiators I have got were like 17"

Chinese radiators all have fitment issues. Which one did you buy?

Yeah that's Chinese. It is to be expected.... Send it back. Only ones with guaranteed fitment are USA made ones.
