I understand the YZF shocks can be had for around $200, but how do they compare with aftermarket raptor shocks? Would they rate in between rec shocks and rezzies? I know they have rezzies on them, but i was wondering how they compared to aftermarket shocks. thanks in advance.

IMO they're as good as some of the cheaper, entry level stuff. This is more prevalent if you have then re-valved for the quad and rider. For about the same cost as a pair of works triple rate at-steelers w/ rez you can have something that is more adjustable with a larger, stronger shaft. I'm not saying they're a better choice than a quality aftermarket shock but I will say that they're a better shock for the money up to a point.
One thing to keep in mind is no more actual wheel travel will be gained with the YFZ shocks. By going with an after market shocks will will gain wheel travel and MOST IMPORTANT get a shock that is valved and sprung for to you needs.

I'd agree with the guys above. The YFZ shocks are a good "middle of the road" shock. They work good and are rebuildable.
Although the high end shocks are good stuff, don't buy into the idea you have to have shocks specifically for you, your quad, riding, etc.
All that is great for professional racers that only ride one kind of terrain, (or have sponsers to foot the bill for different shocks for different purposes), but most of us aren't pro and we ride all kinds of terrain. (That's why ya got an ATV isn't it? LOL) If ya can afford the big name shocks they are probably gonna be better, but for the money the YFZ shocks do the job pretty good.
I have YFZ shocks on my Raptor, (and my sons...), and have a pair of Elka triple rates I need to get rebuilt/revalved. The Elkas weren't setup for me but were nice shocks while I ran them.
