thinking about doing a big bore, and 5mm stroker crank

im just browsing ebay, and coming across a big bore kit, and stroker crank combo. i had my bike out in the sand dunes in september, and kind of hurt my quad. something is messed up in the transmission, and im thinking top end went lean due to ground issue on pc5 being as my bike is a 06, and they had issues with this. i figure motor has to be torn apart for trans, and potential top end. so i might as well beef it up while its apart right? i found a kit on ebay. its a 780cc big bore kit. it has a new cylinder, piston, cam chain, and 5mm hot rod stroker crank. its $920. is it worth it? what other mods will i need to support this? ie, head work, throttle body, injector, clutching, transmission upgrades? and what not. i already have a pc5, and am looking into a good dual exhaust as well. i mainly ride trails, but now see our group doing a once maybe twice a year trip to the dunes. so there will be tight technical stuff, but also so wide open riding as well for the type of riding we do. im 6'6 and 330#. so i could use the extra power as well. how would this affect reliability? is having a stroker crank causing me to do more maintenance on it. or more tear downs?
im still pretty open to options as well.

No offense but it sounds like you need to do a little research. First off stay away from ebay and their "kits", they usually consist of lack luster parts that will cost you even more in the long run. I'd tear the engine apart so you know exactly what you need before you start buying away. Then you can prepare a budget and talk to a builder. If you're on the power hunt you'll want to start with the head and not just increasing cc's. Building it correctly, reliability shouldn't be any less compared to stock.

The ebay kits are cylinder works cylinders. They are steel sleeved and the sleeve is known for dropping down causing the head gasket to leak. You should talk builder, (HPS, Cuervo, Racers Edge, ect), before spending big money on parts.

YEP, more research! There are several articles on big bore and strokers. I think there was one just last week, just do a search.

As said, there's lots of power in the head. Have it ported by a 700 builder like HPS, Racers Edge, Cuervo, Kenz's etc. I don't normally suggest a Stage 2 cam, but with your weight, it may be a better choice than a Stage 3, for a stock motor. If you do a stroker and/or big bore, go with the Stage 3 or a HDD 5050. The 5050 will require better springs and rocker clearancing by your porter.

HDD 5050 cam, aggressive trail porting, +1 valves, +3 TB, 105.5 CP 10.75:1 pump gas safe piston, 5mm stroker, small pipe dual exhaust, will put you around 70HP and 55-60 flat torque curve.

Do the oil mod, install the crank bearing support plate, true and weld the crank and sprocket, full HD clutch kit and HD springs, you need a head stud kit, factory timing chain, and you MUST use a "SCE" head gasket with the big bore.

Take your parts list and "CALL" TQS ATV for prices. Tell him you're a forum member and you've been looking on ebay. When he's done laughing, see how much money you can save. AND, he can supply you a ballpark map, but, I would get the auto tune or a dyno pull to optimize it.

OH yeah, have your head checked for warpage, and machine as necessary.

im trying to do research, but for some reason when im in this section the rapto00 modifications page, the site gets all screwy. its insanely difficult to manage, and navigate through. it only does this on the mods section of this website.
